Introductie

Kunstenaars ontdekken keramiek.

 

Keramische kunst uit het Europees Keramisch Werk Centrum (EKWC) in Den Bosch.
Gastconservatoren Marc Kohlen en Andrea Wach.
Beide zijn zij technisch en artistiek adviseur in het EKWC. Ze genoten een traditionele ambachtelijk georiënteerde opleiding. Marc bij Thei van Rens in Tegelen, Andrea bij de Keramische Vakopleiding in Höhr-Grenzhausen.

In het EKWC zijn ze betrokken bij het andere uiterste. Hier komen kunstenaars proeven van de klei, ermee werken en worstelen en experimenteren. Marc en Andrea doen voortdurend onderzoek en volgen de laatste nieuwe ontwikkelingen op keramisch technologisch gebied. Geïnspireerd door hun verleden én het heden stelden zij een expositie samen over kunst, tradities en vernieuwing in de keramiek. (foto's)

“Crack and Taste”
Artist discover ceramics
An exhibition in cooperation with the European Ceramic Work Centre.
Guest curators Marc Kohlen and Andrea Wach. Both are technical and artistic advisors at the EKWC. They are trained in the ceramic craft in a traditional way and they studied at the academy of arts. At the EKWC they worked with over 650 artists, from 47 nationalities. They saw them ‘tasting’clay, struggle with it and the becoming of new work. Out of all this work, made at the EKWC, they choose 31 artist. The result is an exhibition that shows the wide range of ‘flavours’ that clay can offer.
